Jimmy Don Stuth, 82, of Greenville, passed away on Tuesday,
April 11, 2017 surrounded by his loving family following a 12- year battle with
Parkinsonís Disease. A memorial service
will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 15, 2017 at United Presbyterian Church
of Greenville with Rev. Ron Holmes officiating.
Coker-Mathews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Friday, April 14, 2017 at
the family home from 5PM-7PM.
Mr. Stuth was born on September 14, 1934 in Greenville,
Texas to Hattie Hall Stuth and Charles James Stuth. He married Kay Ann Matthews Stuth on January
28, 1956 in Longview, Texas. Jim was
proud to have been born and raised in Greenville. He graduated from Greenville High School and
attended East Texas State Teacherís College in Commerce where he received his
bachelorís degree in mathematics and physics.
He had a passion for music and while in college he enjoyed playing the
saxophone for the East Texans Dance Band, the college marching band and the college
concert band. After graduating from college he felt honored to serve the needs
of E-Systems for 42. During his tenure
with E-Systems he was please to influence and mentor many young designers and
engineers new to the aerospace field. He
was an active member of Grace and United Presbyterian Churches. He was an avid collector of American
Brilliant Cut Glass and a member of the Lone Star Chapter of the American Cut
Glass Association. Jim and Kay traveled
widely in their pursuit of cut glass. He
loved hunting and golfing together with his sons.
He is survived by his devoted wife Kay, his son Sam and wife
Suzi and son Tom and wife Kelly. He is
also survived by his brothers Charles and Reeves, sister Barbara and many
nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his son, Craig and
his daughter, Andrea and brother Jerry.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Wilson, Mickey Pierson,
Charles Adams, Ed McMeans, Jim McMeans, Tom McAlister, Lewis Clark and Bob
