Scott Vanderhoof
11/20/1956 - 6/26/2017

Scott K. Vanderhoof, 61, of Woburn, Mass., passed away Sunday night, June 26, 2017, at his Greenville home. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 30, at Cross Trails Cowboy Church, 4761 FM 1563 in Fairlie, with Pastor Oliver Mowatt officiating. He is survived by his wife, Debbie; sons Cody Tucker, Keith Vanderhoof, and Jason Vanderhoof and wife Jodi; daughters Shellie Vanderhoof and Lorna Vanderhoof-Neely and husband Forrest; brothers Bruce and Richard Vanderhoof; and many grandchildren. Scott made his living as a livestock dealer; his love of animals and personal knowledge of stubbornness made him expertly designed to raise and train mules. He was most often seen with a smile on his face and a laugh not far behind. In his later years Scott also found a love for prison and jail ministry. After completing a three-year stint managing a halfway house in Lubbock, he took up local Greenville ministries and other nonprofit activities. The men's and women's lives he touched will never forget the saying, "I said a prayer for you today." He will be missed but never forgotten. Struggles and hardships are terrible things to waste, and Scott would be the first to tell you he was forgiven and deeply loved. All are encouraged to attend the memorial service Friday at 10 a.m. for the celebration of his life. Memorials are suggested be made to the family for future designation on Scott's behalf.
