Charlie Jack White, 90 of Greenville, passed away on
Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Briarcliff Health Center. Funeral services are
scheduled for 2 P.M., Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. John Shasteen and Rev. Daniel White officiating. Burial will
be in Brigham Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, July 22, 2017 from 6 P.M.
to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Mr. White was born near Caddo Mills, Texas at Union Hill on
February 9, 1927, the seventh child of Robert L. White and Amanda Milam
White. He married Bettye Welch. He
attended Caddo Mills Schools and graduated in 1945. He served in the Navy
during WWII, having duty on Guam. He was the mayor of Campbell for 12 years,
helped get a sewer in Campbell and served as a tax collector for Campbell School,
served on the water board 24 years and drove a school bus for 13 years. He
loved all the kids and enjoyed that more than anything. He was a member of the
