Mary Ann Wilson, a loyal
resident of Merit, Texas passed away on Monday July 31, 2017 in a Celina
nursing home, just 80 years young. A memorial service will be held to celebrate
the beautiful life of Mary Ann Wilson at 3:00 PM, Saturday, August 19, 2017 at
First Baptist Church of Celeste with Dr. James Ralson and Dr. Jim Sherwin
Mrs. Wilson was born in
Dallas, Texas on November, 2, 1936. She
was the daughter of Asbury Goodman Canafax and Mary Earlene Canafax. Mary Ann married the love of her life Gordon
Wilson, on May 22, 1955 in Dallas, Texas.
She worked at the cotton gin in Farmersville, Texas and was the court
clerk for the City of Farmersville for several years. Although Mary Ann was born in the city of
Dallas, she absolutely loved the country where she raised her children and
showed them her love of animals, especially dogs and horses. Mary Ann was always full of life and loved
her family dearly. She loved to sing,
dance and make people laugh. She lived
in the moment and made everyone’s day a little brighter.
She is survived by her
husband, Gordon Wilson, son Michael Wilson and wife, Melissa Wilson, daughter
Wendy Gross and husband James Gross, sisters Linda Clark and Margaret
Gutierrez, grandchildren, Brandy Edwards, Austin Wilson, Haley Wilson, Levi
Gross and Lathan Gross.
She is preceded in death by
her parents and sister Patricia Canafax Wade.

Mary Ann Wilson, our new guardian angel.
