Gene Paul Devers

Gene Paul Devers, 79 of Greenville, passed away on September 30, 2017 at his residence. A memorial service is scheduled for 2 P.M., Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Larry Little officiating.

Mr. Devers was born in Pampa, Texas on September 26, 1938 to Sam Devers and Lucille Tanner Devers. He married Linda Little on April 27, 1978 in Greenville, Texas. He was the owner of Hwy. 35 Marina for 45 years, worked in Oil/Gas Investments and after retirement worked for H&R Block which he enjoyed. He was of the Christian faith.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Devers of Greenville, son, Mark and wife, Dana of Woodway, step-son, Bryan Black and wife, Laura of Greenville, daughter, Angie McManus and husband, Jerry of Greenville, brother, James Devers and wife, Wanda of Greenville, grandchildren, Chelsi Hanson and husband, Seth, Sarah Ivory and husband, Vance, Tara McManus, Linzy Garrett and husband, Chaz, Rebecca Nassar and husband, Charlie, Lauren McManus, April Drusch and husband Nick and ten great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Tanner and husband, Herb, father, Sam Devers, wife, Barbara June Devers and step daughter, Shannon Black.

All memorials may be made to Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, 2222 Welborn St., Dallas, Texas 75219.
