Louise Amanda Rockafellow

Louise Amanda Taylor Rockafellow, 83 of Greenville, Texas,
passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2017 after a long illness.
She was born on September 12, 1934 in Dunmore, West Virginia. She was the
daughter of the late Charlie J. Taylor and Nola Galford Taylor. Louise was a
loving wife, caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her
sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She graduated from Greenbank High School in Greenbank, West
Virginia in 1952. She was also a graduate from Charleston Business College in
Charleston, West Virginia. She was a retired secretary/receptionist. She met
the love of her life, Edward Gale Rockafellow (Rocky) and they were married on
August 20, 1966 at Langley AFB, Virginia.
She went with Rocky during his career in the United States Air Force when she
could. She followed him to Webb AFB, Texas, Rhein-Main AFB, Germany and Loring
AFB, Maine. After Rocky’s retirement from the Air Force, they moved back to
Dunmore, West Virginia. Then Rocky got a job in San’a North Yemen and Riyadh,
Saudi Arabia. Louise and Steven joined Rocky in Riyadh. They returned to
Dunmore, West Virginia and then Rocky got a job with E-Systems in Greenville,
Texas and Louise and Steven joined him in Greenville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her
sister, Zula Taylor and husband Marvin Taylor.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Edward (Rocky)
Rockafellow and her sons, Gary Taylor and wife, Linda of Manassas, Virginia and
Steven Rockafellow of Greenville; five grandchildren, Sarah Bosworth and
husband, Kevin of Berryville, Virginia, Matthew Taylor and wife, Cassandra of
Ely, Nevada, Daniel Taylor of Manassas, Virginia, Tristan Blasingame of
Greenville, Texas and Tyra Rockafellow of Oklahoma; Four great-granddaughters
and four great-grandsons.
A visitation will be 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Coker-Mathews
Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 5, 2017. Funeral services will be held at Van
Reenen Funeral Home in Marlinton, West Virginia. Final resting place will be at
Arborvale Cemetery in Arborvale, West Virginia.
