Funeral services for Dorothy Lee Meador, 93, of Greenville
will be at 2 pm on Thursday, February 22, 2018 in the Coker Mathews chapel with
Rev Kenny Pope officiating. Burial will
follow in Memoryland Memorial Park.
Mrs. Meador passed away, Monday, February 19, 2018 at her
home in Greenville with her daughters at her side. She was born May 1, 1924 in Cunningham, Lamar
County, Texas to John and Sallie Devlin, the baby of 14 children. She married Wesley Keith Meador in Vernon,
Texas in September 8, 1945. Together
they had two daughters, Joyce and Brenda.
She also had a step-son, Robert Keith “Bobby” Meador. She was a mother, grandmother, and
housekeeper. She loved her family and spent as much time with them as possible.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Keith, her
step-son, Robert Keith, her parents, half brother, Ben Devlin, sisters, Mary
Devlin, Susie Williams, Maggie Esta Sims, Josephine Berryman, Vera Cox, Dora
Hester and brothers, John Walker Devlin, William Charles “Charlie” Devlin,
Alton Leslie Devlin, Calvin Morgan Devlin, and Jack T Devlin.
Mrs. Meador is survived by her daughters, Joyce Ann Meador
of Greenville and Brenda Kae Pope of Cypress.
Also surviving is a sister, Velma Cox of Arlington, daughter-in-law,
Barbara Meador of Frederick, OK and son-in-law, Kenny Pope of Cypress.
Grandchildren surviving are Amanda Pope Lane (Brian), Kendra Lee Pope, Randy
Meador (Michelle), Deborah Meador Hynes (Kevin), Robert Meador (Holly), and
Holley Meador Holloway (Gary). Also many
great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Wednesday,
February 21, 2018 from 5 pm to 7 pm.
The family would like to thank the team at Dignity Hospice. We are so grateful for the loving care provided to our mother and grandmommy by Becky, Carrie, Courtney and Rachel.
