Gayla Ruth Hardaway

Gayla Ruth Hardaway, 80 of Greenville died Monday.  Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Friday at Memoryland Memorial Park with Rev. John Kay officiating, under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.  Visitation will be Thursday, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hardaway was born in Port Arthur, Texas on March 1, 1938.  She was the daughter of Charles Johnson and Geraldine Harrison Johnson.  She married Charles Robert (Bobby) Hardaway on June 3, 1960 in Port Arthur, Texas.  She taught at Greenville High School for 34 years and was a member of Kavanaugh United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Robert (Bobby) Hardaway; son, Jim Hardaway and wife, Elena; daughters, Katie Robles and husband, Carlos, Cindy Ragsdale and Jerrilyn Hardaway; grandchildren, Justin Ragsdale and wife Nikki, Lisa Ragsdale and fiancÚ, Cody Baxter, Cinto and James Robles and Katelyn and Kelsey Hardaway;  great-grandchildren, Kole and Kooper Ragsdale; brothers-in-law John Hardaway and wife Marcie, and Bill Hardaway; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Bob Hardaway.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Justin Ragsdale, Cinto Robles, James Robles and Cody Baxter.
