Charles Edward
Jaco, of Greenville, TX, passed away Tuesday, December 28th, 2021,
at the age of 89.
Charles was
born September 2, 1932, in Gainesville, Texas to Roy and Opal Jaco. At a young
age, Charles moved to Greenville, Texas, with his family where his father and
later his brother, Weldon Jaco, ran the family clothing business, Jaco's Mens and
Boys Wear.
Charles
attended Greenville High School where he served as President of the Student
Council and was selected as 'Who's Who among High School Students in
America'. He was voted 'Best All Around
Boy' his senior year. He was winner of the Student Council Award in 1949. He
was member of the National Honor Society. He was also a member of the Football
Team and the 'G' Association.
After High
School, Charles received an appointment to the U. S. Naval Academy. Upon
graduation he received a commission in the U. S. Navy where he served for two
years before receiving a medical discharge due to injuries from an explosion
while on board ship.
Later, Charles worked
at Texas Instruments, IBM and Xerox Corporation. He was also in consulting and accounting
software development for the ten years just prior to his retirement.
In the Greenville
community Charles served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Hunt
Memorial Hospital District from May 1996 May 2008.
Charles is
predeceased by his parents, his brother and his brother's wife Carol Jaco.
Charles was
also predeceased by Patsy Willingham Jaco of Dallas, TX; Sandra Daniel Jaco and
Linda Hollywood Jaco, both of Greenville, TX.
Surviving
Charles is his daughter Candice Brown (Grand Prairie, TX) and husband Patrick
and their children, Patrick, Jonathan and wife Jacqueline and their son Theo,
Jessica, Brittany, and Christopher; his daughter, Alison Barry (Greenville, SC)
and husband Randy and their children, Jenna and Christopher and great
granddaughter Gracie; his daughter, Joey Blakley (Parker, TX) and her children
Martina, Brannen and Claira; stepson Rick Billingsley (Arlington, TX) and wife
Laura and their children, Megan and Chance, his stepson David Billingsley (Cibolo,
TX) and wife Loli and their children, Davy and Sandra Marie; his stepson, Kevin
Williams (Edmond, OK) and wife Susan and their children, Jeremy Williams and his
wife Michelle and daughter Jennifer Shrewsbury and her husband Jared; his stepson,
David Williams (Greenville, TX) and daughter, Jillian Williams.
No Visitation
services will be held. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 22,
20 22 at 11:00 AM at United Presbyterian Church, 5905 Stonewall St.,
Greenville, TX 75402.
