Abel Dominguez Martinez, 85, of San Antonio, passed away on October 2, 2023, in Greenville, Texas. A rosary will be held 6:00 P.M., Monday, October 9, 2023, at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Deacon James Starr officiating. Visitation will follow from 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
A funeral mass will be 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at St. Williams Catholic Church with Father Javier Diaz officiating.
Mr. Martinez was born January 26, 1938, in San Antonio to Asencion Martinez and Juanita Dominquez Garza. He married Dorothy Mann on April 8, 1961, in San Antonio, Texas. He worked in civil service at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Martinez; son, Abel Martinez, Jr., and wife, Denise; daughters, Sharon Gay Garcia and husband, Enrique, and Deborah Ann Dunn and husband, Mark; Sisters, Alicia Soriano and Margaret Ann Moreno; brother, John Michael Garza; grandchildren, Stacie, Eric, Rico, Ray, Veronica, Johnie, Justin, Sierra, and Dakota; along with numerous great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Alfredo and Armando.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Williams Catholic Church, 4300 Stuart St, Greenville, TX 75401.
