Frances Ann McNatt Treadway
May 18, 1940 - April 12, 2025
Frances Ann Treadway, 84, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was born on May 18, 1940, in Greenville, Texas, and spent the majority of her life in Dallas, Texas, where she left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Frances was a 1958 graduate of Greenville High School, where she was a Majorette. She graduated in 1962 with honors from Southern Methodist University, majoring in English.
Frances had a varied and accomplished career, but found her greatest joy in teaching children with disabilities. She spent many years teaching pre-kindergarten to high school in varied subjects including English, History, and French. She also worked as a travel consultant, an interior decorator, and managed the operations of her parents' estate, in particular the J.P. 'Punk'' McNatt motor company conglomerate.
Frances loved beaches, reading, sitting outside, and spending time with people that had a great sense of humor. She also was an avid gardener and prolific reader.
Frances retired in Dallas alongside her beloved husband and high-school sweet heart, Logan Edward Treadway, Jr. , who preceded her in death. For many years after her retirement, Fran volunteered at The Meadows Museum at SMU.
Frances was also preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Lee Caperton.
She is survived by their daughter, Kelly Caperton Walling; and by their son, Charles Lee Caperton II along with his wife, Kelly Lane Caperton. Fran is also survived by her grandchildren Charles Lee Caperton III (Trey), Taylor Caperton, Brooke Caperton, Justin Caperton, Andrew Walling, and Katherine Walling. Frances leaves behind a number of other family and friends, including her cherished stepdaughters, Tiffany Vasquez and Candace Clarke.
Fran will forever be remembered as a fiery, fun, brilliant, and engaging influence on each of our lives. She will be deeply missed and cherished by those of us who had the fortune to be touched by her life.
Services will be held at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home in Greenville, Texas. A viewing will take place on Friday, May 2, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Forest Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Alzheimer's Association, an organization dedicated to advancing research and supporting individuals and families affected by Alzheimer's disease.
