Verner "Dickie" Littleton Denman III
July 28, 1945 - April 28, 2025
Verner (Dickie) Littleton Denman III, 79, of Greenville, passed away on April 28, 2025 at Mesquite Specialty Hospital. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home from 12:00pm to 2:00pm. Graveside services will follow at Forest Park Cemetery for family and close friends.
Dickie was born on July 28, 1945, in Greenville to Verner (Junie) L. Denman, Jr. and Iva Guthrie Denman. After graduating from Greenville High School in 1963, he attended East Texas State College. On August 1, 1969, he and Kay Sport were married at Central Christian Church in Greenville.
Following in his dad's footsteps, he loved flying and got his pilot's license. Dickie worked at LTV, E-Systems, and L-3 as an operations analyst and computer programmer before retiring in 2015 after 45 years. While growing up, he spent every summer water skiing and boating at Greenville Club Lake. Dickie also loved to snow ski with friends and family. He also loved cars, especially the 1950's and 1960's models, and he passed his love of cars onto his son Chris and daughter Kaci. Because of his love for old cars, he spent many years going to Cruisin the Coast with his friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Kay, daughter Kaci Vela and son-in-law Nick Vela, of Greenville, son Christopher Denman of Dallas, sister Patti Earls of Commerce, grandsons Colt, Wyatt, and Lincoln Vela, sister-law-law Sue Sport, brother-in-law Joe Sport, numerous cousins, and his beloved dog, Moose.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents Verner and Bess Denman, Roy and Christine Guthrie, and brother-in-law David Earls.
Dickie was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
