Ruth Mary Russell

Ruth Mary Russell 87, passed away peacefully into the hands of our Lord Jesus Christ on October 10, 2025, with family at her bedside.
A Memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of McKinney, Texas, on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 10:00 am. with Dr. Tommy Brumett officiating. Visitation with family will begin at 9:00 am until the memorial service begins. Ruth Russell's Memorial Service at the First United Methodist Church of McKinney will also be live streamed at https://www.sharingtheheart.org/ceremonies for family and friends who may not be able to attend in person. A reception to follow services at the First United Methodist Church of McKinney.
Ruth was born January 20, 1938, in Yonkers, New York, to John and Mary Yurus. Ruth graduated Catholic High School in Yonkers, New York, and worked at the New York Stock exchange. Ruth was one of eight brothers and sisters.
Ruth married Roy Russell on May 1, 1960, and had three sons, Jason Russell, Eric Russell, and Wesley Russell. Ruth and her family later moved to the rural area of Celeste, Texas, where they made their home adjusting to rural life and the many challenges it brough to her family. Through all the challenges Ruth was able to bring peace and happiness to her home where she lived the remainder of her life.
Ruth was preceded in death by her Father John Yurus and Mother, Mary Yurus. Ruth was also preceded in death by her sisters Helen and Edna and brothers Edward, William, George, and husband Roy Earl Russell.
Ruth is survived by sister Rita, brother John, twenty-three nieces and nephews, sons Jason Russell and spouse Yvonne, Eric Russell, Wesley Russell and spouse Mary, thirteen grandchildren, and twenty-eight great-great grandchildren.
