Jimmie Edward Willliams, 82, of Greenville, passed away on November 17, 2025, at his residence. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home, with Rev. Melissa Kirby officiating. Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. until service time. Jimmie will be buried at Memoryland Memorial Park at a later date. Jimmie was born January 8, 1943, in Greenville, Texas to Jim Henry and Eva Ruth Ray Williams. Jimmie and his parents lived in Cumby for a time as sharecroppers until his father's death when Jimmie was 8 years old. Eva Ruth then moved the family back to Greenville where Jimmie attended Greenville High School until he joined the United States Navy. After leaving the United States Navy, Jimmie was a race car driver at Superbowl Speedway where he met and later married the love of his life Wanda Gay Smith on his birthday of January 8, 1966, in Greenville, Texas. Throughout his life Jimmie enjoyed fishing on the great Lakes of Texas and raccoon hunting with his children. After marriage Jimmie owned and operated a Mechanic's Shop until 1992. Later in life He worked for notable companies as a drafter including IBM and Boeing. Once retiring from Boeing Jimmie worked as a substitute teacher for Greenville ISD until 2016 when he fully retired to enjoy time with his loving wife, Wanda, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Jimmie was also a member of the Church of the Nazarene before joining the First Pentecostal Church of God in Greenville Texas. Jimmie strived throughout his life to spread the word of God and bring those who did not know him to Christ. Jimmie is survived by his son, Jason Williams and wife, Rebecca; daughter, Desha Williams; daughter-in-love, Patricia Williams and husband, Rex Underhill; grandchildren, Sydni Sugg and husband, Matthew Elkins, Paden Williams, Zachary Hoffman, Michaela Follis and husband, Don, Jordan Freeman; great-grandchildren, Lila Rose Elkins, Lilley Hoffman, Trinity Hoffman and Kayden Follis. He is preceded in death by his Father and Mother, Father and Mother-in-law, sister-in-law Nancy Zoller, brother-in-law Kelly Smith, and his be loved wife Wanda Williams. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in his name at the Greenville Education and Enrichment Foundation at American National Bank of Texas in Greenville.
