Theresa Marian Womack
September 10, 1954 - January 9, 2026

Theresa Marian Womack, née Kirk, 71, of Greenville, passed away on January 9th, 2026 in Rockwall, Texas, surrounded by her family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 A.M., Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel in Greenville, Texas.

Theresa was born number 4 of 10 children, on September 10, 1954 in Omaha, Nebraska to James Lacy Kirk and Kathleen Chloris Shade. Theresa moved to Texas, after high school, where she met and married Wayne Womack making a life together that would last over 42 years. Theresa had one daughter, Erin, and 2 grandchildren, Emily and Ethan, whom she loved and doted on.

Although she was an accomplished writer and poetess, Theresa was really best known for her special gift with all animals, sharing her life and home with an extensive and sometimes odd variety of ''pets''. She had a uniquely creative and adventurous spirit that especially endeared her to her many nieces and nephews. They all loved time spent with Aunt Theresa, where there was never a dull moment in spite, or because, of her sometimes outrageous antics. Theresa loved her family and would do anything for them. She will be dearly missed by all.

Theresa is survived by her husband Wayne Womack; her daughter Erin Tate; her grandchildren Emily and Ethan Tate; her sisters Monica Kirk, Kathy Kirk, Robin Kirk Caniglia and Kim Kirk Cook; her brothers John Kirk, Dan Kirk and Tim Kirk; her 21 nieces and nephews; her countless grand nieces and nephews and her best friend Duchess.

Theresa was preceded in death by her parents James and Kathleen Kirk; her brother James M Kirk and her sister Maureen Kirk Calabro.
