Mark Stephen Saathoff

Mark Stephen Saathoff, 63, of Merit, passed away on January 13, 2026 in Dallas, Texas. A celebration of life will be planned in the near future. Coker-Mathews Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mark was born on January 11, 1963, in San Antonio, Texas to Karl Saathoff and Sarah Jo Houston. He married Mariane Elizabeth Miller on August 10, 1984 in Dallas, Texas. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and worked as a welder. Mark was a volunteer fire fighter and first responder with the Merit Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife, Mariane Saathoff; son Aaron Saathoff, wife Raquel Perez; daughter Meghan Saathoff Smith, husband Greg Smith; son Garrett Saathoff, wife Krystal Thomas; mother Sarah Saathoff; brother Matt Saathoff, wife Mary; sister Martha Saathoff Spiva, husband Tracy Spiva; brother Mike Saathoff and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Karl Saathoff; parents-in-law John and Sue Miller and nephew Nick Spiva.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Merit Volunteer Fire Department in Merit Texas.
