Carole Ruth Buchanan

Carole Buchanan, 86, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026, at Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville, Texas. Born on March 22, 1939, in Gilmer, Texas to Charles and Ruth Benton Morrison, she lived a full and generous life marked by kindness and devotion to her family.

Carole was the beloved wife of the late Welch Glenn Buchanan and a devoted mother. She is lovingly remembered by her sons Chuck Buchanan, Tom Buchanan, and Jim Buchanan; her daughters Debbie Luce and Joy Denault; sister Mary Bland as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Welch Glenn Buchanan, her daughter Kim Van Huss, her parents, a brother, and three sisters.

Throughout her life, Carole found joy in the simple pleasures that brought warmth to those around her. She had a passion for cooking, baking, painting and sewing - skills she used not only to care for her family but also to express her creativity and love. Her talent for bargain hunting was second to none and legendary among those who knew her well; she had an eye for finding treasures where others might not look.

Carole's gentle spirit and loving nature left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her home was a place of comfort and welcome, filled with the aroma of fresh-baked goods and the hum of a sewing machine crafting something special for someone she cared about.

May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. A Visitation will be held on January 28, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and the funeral service will be held on January 29, 2026, at 2:00 PM, both at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home 5100 I-30 Frontage Rd East Greenville TX 75402.
