Carolyn Sue Brewer

Carolyn Brewer, 81, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026. She was born on June 29, 1944, in Dallas to Katherine and Billy Tharp, their cherished only child.
Carolyn built a life defined by independence, resilience, and a strong work ethic. She was employed by Egan Printing Company and Steakley Chevrolet before spending nearly two decades at Raytheon Technologies in Greenville, Texas, where she served as an administrative assistant. Her steady nature and dedication left a lasting impression on those who worked with her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kathrine and Billy Tharp, and her eldest daughter, Mitzi Busby. She is survived by her daughters, Michelle Albritton and her husband, Eric, of Dallas, and Stacy Bowen and her husband, John, of Lone Oak; her grandchildren, Trey Cruise of Bogata, Nicole Cruise of Irving, Christina Donovan of Mesquite, Grace Albritton of Dallas, Luke Albritton of Washington, D.C., and Sarah Bowen of Lone Oak; and her great-grandchildren, Joshua, Caleb, and Mackenzie Seifert, and Grayson Donovan of Mesquite and Nellie Cruise of Lone Oak.
Those who knew Carolyn will remember her as fiercely independent, an avid reader, and someone who cherished the quiet comforts of home. She had an unassuming charm paired with a dry sense of humor and deeply appreciated anyone who could make her laugh. Open-minded and even-tempered, she had a rare gift for accepting and loving people exactly as they were.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Wieland Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home in Greenville, Texas, on Friday, February 6, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cure Alzheimer's Fund or The Stewpot, a mission of First Presbyterian Church Dallas.
