Lois Carol Hamilton

Lois Carol Hamilton, 86, of Celeste, passed away on June 11, 2026, in Celeste. The memorial service will be 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 16, 2026, in Greenville, Texas, at Cornerstone Community Church of The Nazarene with Pastor Ron Hight officiating. Coker-Mathews Funeral Home oversaw arrangements.

Lois was born on November 22, 1939, in California Township, Michigan, to Orlo Harmon and Goldy McNall Harmon. She married Edward Sylvester Palmer Jr. and earned a Bachelor of Science from Bethany Nazarene College in Bethany, Oklahoma. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend, and teacher of unconditional love. She faithfully served and loved Jesus Christ her whole life. After 49 years of marriage and three wonderful children, Edward passed away. Lois remarried Harold Jay Hamilton and enjoyed another 10 years of marriage before his passing. Lois was a lifetime Nazarene and a member of Cornerstone Community Church of The Nazarene at the time of her passing. Lois founded Silver Christian Academy in El Paso, TX, in 2000, and worked as a teacher and a church secretary.

She is survived by her sister, Edna May Simpson; son, David Palmer and wife, Stacy; daughters, Sylvia Dossett and husband, Larry, and Debby Doggett; grandchildren, Elizabeth Gutierrez, Amber Crowe, Michael Barrera, Isaac Palmer, Hannah Didear, Josephine Davis, David Palmer, Jr., Noah Palmer, Toby Palmer, Charlie Hightower, Aella Stathos, Phoebe Palmer, Carl Cagle, Leah Baise, Melissa Dossett, Tabitha Dossett and Patricia Dossett; great-grandchildren, Lucas Palmer, Elijah Crowe, Jaxson Crowe, Callie Crowe, Annabel Palmer, Olivia Palmer, James Palmer, Atticus Palmer, Vera Didear, Thomas Davis, Raymond Davis, Rosalyn Davis, Alfred Davis, Ethan Palmer, Elaina Palmer, Daisy Palmer, Kyle Neal, Leia Neal, Amelia Baise, Corbin Cagle, Lizzy Holmburge, David Ziegert, and Addalen Duran.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Sylvester Palmer Jr.; her second husband, Harold Jay Hamilton; her parents, Orlo and Goldy McNall Harmon; her siblings, Paul Charles Harmon, Gertrude Wannagenne Parson, and Meda Ruth Palmerton.
