Johnnie Lee Dixon, 84, of Yantis, passed away on June 20, 2026 in Tyler, Texas. Coker-Mathews Funeral Home in Greenville, Texas is in charge of arrangements.
Johnnie was born on January 21, 1942 in McAlester, Oklahoma to Johnnie Dixon and Margaret Elizabeth Brummett. He married Virginia Diane Lamm on July 15, 2004.
Johnnie served in the United States Army Reserves. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Southwest Oklahoma State University and worked for the Veteran's Administration for many years. After retirement, he continued to serve others in the Lake Fork area as a pharmacist as well. He was a member of Lake Fork Baptist Church.
Johnnie was an avid fisherman also known as ''Crappie Johnnie'' who had secret spots on Lake Fork where he hooked many fish. He was always happy to share stories and the bounty of his fishing successes. He also enjoyed playing golf and a good game of Texas Hold 'Em.
Johnnie is survived by his wife Diane Dixon; sons, James Dixon and spouse Rebecca of McAlester, OK, and Michael Dixon of Sarasota, FL; step-daughters, Mendy Hill, Wendy Baridon and Shana Nowlin; brother Donnie Dixon; sister Sue Dixon Parham; grandchildren Adam Dixon, Alex Dixon, Zack Dixon, John and Jack Hill, Cade Baridon, and Haley, Mason, and Carly Nowlin; great-grandchildren Mackenzie, Millie, and Remi; and a large network of extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
