Lilias Emmie Mayberry Chesne (Mimmie), 78, of Leonard, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on August 8, 2026. Services will be held at a later date.
Lilias was born October 21, 1947, in Simmesport, Louisiana to Joseph and Ethel Nichols Mayberry. She worked as a General Manager in the grocery business at Bordelon's Superette and a Teacher in North Carolina.
She is survived by her children, Alton Michael Chesne Jr. and wife, Stacey, Samuel Joseph Chesne and wife, Tosha, Malinda Chesne, Mary Carmouche; brother, Bruce Mayberry; grandchildren, Jarron (Melissa) Purpera, Devin (Jessi) Purpera, Heather Purpera, Chris (Cady) Chesne, Drew (Liz) Chesne, Joey (Tessa) Chesne, Heavin Chesne, Gavyn (Payton) Chesne, Nolan (Valisa) Carmouche, Melody Carmouche, Caleb (Cheri) Carmouche, Charles (Macy) Pepiton, Garett Pepiton, Caden Kimball and Dylan Forbes; great-grandchildren, Dean Purpera, Ava Purpera, Guinevere Byrd, Ravena Byrd, Gabriel Purpera, Lilias Purpera, Beaux Tweedy, Nathan Chesne, Patrick Chesne, Walter Chesne, Anna Chesne, Nora Chesne, Reed Chesne, Levi Chesne, Sawyer Chesne, Caleb Chesne, Rhodes Kelly, Staley Kelly, Gavin Chesne, Jr., Ember Carmouche, Ethan Ducote, Zane Ducote, Rain Carmouche, Trista Brouillette, Michael Brouillette, Ryan Carmouche, Drake Pepiton, Sophie Carmouche, Joseph Carmouche, Holton Pepiton, Grayson Pepiton, Kaizleigh Pepiton, Allison Pepiton, Harper Pepiton, Waylon Pepiton, Brylee Chesne; great-great grandchildren, Raelynn Bordelon and Amelia Bordelon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel and Joe Mayberry, grandson, Thorne Chesne, sisters, Helen Grass, Barbara Bordelon, Peggy Bordelon, Rhetta Ezerenac, Linda Rachal, Faye Cazelot, Estelle Kimbal, and Joanne Haggard, brothers, Joe Jr. Mayberry, Ray Mayberry, and Samuel Mayberry; along with many more nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
