Born in Hugo, Oklahoma on October 2, 1953, Kim was the beloved daughter of Louis Palmer James and Betty Jo Young. As the middle of three vibrant sisters, Kim radiated a genuine curiosity, joy, and love for the world and all those in her life. Her tastes were electric and passionate, ranging from the heat of salsa to the harmony of a well-tuned symphony. Kim deeply cherished her family, her lifelong friendships, and her treasured pets.
Her curiosity extended to the both the arts and the sciences in their numerous expressions. Her pursuit of knowledge led her to study tirelessly during nights and weekends, culminating in a graduate degree in Business Science, which she earned with honors. Kim also had an impressive taste in music, and she was a steadfast believer in the power and importance of love. Her absence will be profoundly felt by all who knew her.
Kim's legacy continues through her loving husband, Jack Hemby; her son, Matthew Hemby, and his wife, Maitland; her sisters, Sharon Oliver and her husband, Tom, and Joni Holder and her husband, Jon; her step-daughter, Meagan Anderson and her husband, Randy; and her grandchildren, Bailey Reed, William Anderson, and Anezka Hemby.
