Margie Owens Hazelip, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home with devoted family at her bedside on June 8, 2023. Margie was born in Grapeland, Tx., on March 15,1932 to John Ransome Owens, and Lillian Faye Robinson Owens, both of whom preceded her in death.

Margie married Billy Ralph Hazelip on July 18, 1953, in Dallas, Texas. They were married for 69 years and raised 5 children in Garland and Rockwall. Margie worked for Rockwall Manufacturing in Human Resource, before retiring to Commerce. Margie was a pastors wife for 45 years, and served in many areas from VBS to Missions, to Sunday school teacher, for 33 years, at Old Concord Baptist Church, and 12 years at Honey Creek Baptist Church. Margie cherished her Lord and family, and served both with love.

Margie is survived by her sons, Stephen Paul Hazelip (Lela Jan) and Philip David Hazelip (Brenna) daughters Deborah Lynn Pearson (Gary) and Mary Jan Nerwich: Grandchildren Amanda Pearson, Lauren Pearson, Amy Pearson, Heath Hazelip, Ryan Nerwich, Bree Dees, and Ryan Medford; and 12 Great-Grandchildren. Sister, Anita Mitchell, ( Don ) She was preceded in death by her Husband Billy Ralph Hazelip, Son James Marcus Hazelip, and Granddaughter Halie Hazelip Braley, Brothers John Owens, (Jody), Jim Owens, (Charlotte), Sister - in Law Gloria Strange, (Tom).

Funeral service will be 11:00 am, Friday, June 16, 2023 at Coker Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Griffin officiating. Visitation will be at 10:00 am until service at funeral home. Graveside will follow at 2:30 pm at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, Tx.

Pallbearers will be Heath Hazelip, Ryan Nerwich, Michael Dunn, Chris Fleming, Tripp Braley, and Koltyn Hazelip.
