Wanda Farmer Parsons

Wanda Louise Farmer Parsons, 88, of Greenville, passed away on September 29, 2023 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 3rd, at 2pm, at Coker-Mathews Funeral Chapel with Paster Butch Bruton officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 2nd, from 6pm to 8pm at the funeral home.

Wanda was born on August 30, 1935 in the Concord Community, Hunt County, Texas to John Albert and Hazel Surratt Farmer.
As a child, Wanda grew up with her twin brothers on the family farm where she picked cotton and enjoyed the country way of life. As a teenager Wanda began her many occupations over the years to support her three girls as a single mother. From building fiberglass boats, working at Haggar Slacks, to managing the Booterie Shoe Store, running Winchell's Donuts, and the last 15 years running a Daycare Center in her home till retiring in the mid 90's.
Wanda was always the life of the party. She always had a house full of people, a home cooked meal with no measuring, and was always there to pull up a chair to hear out your problems or concerns. Wanda could always be depended upon to do whatever to help her family out to whom she loved very much. She was a Christian and strong believer in Faith. Through her many illnesses over the last couple of years she believed that is what kept her going.

She was preceded in death by her father J.A. (1993), mother Hazel (1995), brother Leo Farmer (2016) and wife Janis (1998), Theo Farmer (2018) and wife Shirley (1979), Twin Great-great Grand-babies Rhett & Scarlett Flournoy (2022), and daughter Linda Davis East (2010).

Wanda is survived by daughters Donna Wilson Jarvis and husband Marshall, Barbi Parsons Nichols and husband Brad, grandchildren Zach Nichols, Zane Nichols, Zoie Nichols, Melinda Latte, Shauna Treat, Jill Phillips, Cody Jarvis, 13 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 Great-Great Granddaughter. Also Survives sister in law, Ann Farmer and close friend Charlsey Tidwell.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Holt, Philip Farmer, Dustin McClain, Chad Arnold, Judd Knight, and Rodney Ludwig. Honorary pallbearer is Jeff Gore.

Special thanks to Dr. Julie Barnard and Staff for all the care they have given to our mom over the years. Also, to Family First Home Health and Hospice over the past month, we are forever grateful for all.

Mom, is what I always called her because that is what she was to me. She was hard working, funny, loving, caring, and didn't give up. She was always one to give advice and lend a ear. Words can't express the laughs, tears, and great times that was shared with her and her wonderful family. The share of the love of animals, music, especially Elvis. She was my favorite Hot Momma. She rocked no matter what. I will miss her smile, laugh, and everything that was Mom. She had a huge impact on my life and her entire family and for that I am forever grateful. I love you Mom. You will always hold a place in my heart. Gina
