Judy Kathryn Weaks

Judy danced into the gates of heaven on October 10, 2023. She was at home surrounded by her family. A celebration of life will be 3:00 PM on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, in the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
Judy was adopted along with her brother Roger at the ages of thirteen and ten from their grandparents in Laverne, Arizona. They began their new life with I.O. and Ruby Lee Hughes in Stamford, Texas. She was shy but talented with a contagious smile which warmed everyone she met. She became a Majorette for the Bulldog Band, President of the Methodist Youth Fellowship of St. John's Methodist Church.
She met the love of her life ''Ronnie'' at Stamford High School. She went on to attend North Texas State University, majoring in Elementary education. She graduated in three years and married Ronald D. Weaks on June 22, 1963.
After marrying, Ron and Judy headed to Austin, Texas where she taught at Dell Valley Elementary school, until giving birth to Michael David Weaks. They moved to Aspermont, Texas where she taught for three years until giving birth to Roger Dale Weaks. She also accomplished her Master's degree in Educational Psychology at Hardin Simmons University. She taught in Richardson, Texas for four years until they moved to Greenville. Judy then taught at Caddo Mills for seven years until she retired to help Ron with his dental practice. A brief interlude of one year, she returned to teach in Wolfe City, Texas where she excelled at ''giving a college education to sixth graders!'' Or so we have been told by many of her students.
During the years in Greenville, she became a contributing member of Altrusa Club, the DAR, Greenville Lion's Club International, and the Greenville Follies.
Judy always had a giving spirit and it was obvious to all those that knew and loved her.
Judy was member of Kavanagh Methodist Church for thirty years. She then became a member of B'nai Shalom (Sons of Peace) in Norman, Oklahoma and Beit Or (The House of Light) in Forney, Texas.
Judy traveled to Israel and attended the Feast of Tabernacles in Oklahoma from 1999 to 2014. She loved keeping Passover and other feasts and welcomed many God fearing believers from all over the Nation. The joy of her life was to welcome in Shabbat and celebrate the Sabbath with her family and friends.
Judy is survived by her loving husband Dr. Ronald D. Weaks, son Dr. Michael D. Weaks and wife Dianne, grandchildren Dr. Zachary D. Weaks and wife Sarah, Nathaniel Weaks, and Ronald D Weaks II and fiance Marissa Rigsby. Three great grandchildren, John Weaks, Evan Weaks, and Rogue Weaks. Her brother Roger Hughes and wife Martha. She is preceded in death by her parents and son Roger Dale Weaks.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Remember For Me PO Box 31 Greenville, TX. 75403.
