Barbara L. Brooks, 85, of Greenville, Texas, passed away on March 6, 2024, at her residence. A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Highland Terrace Baptist Church with Rev. Royce Litchfield officiating. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. until service time.

Barbara was born September 18, 1938, in Norwood, Missouri to Fred Lando and Laura Angeline Hailey Hagan. After high school high, Barbara moved to Bossier City, LA where she met Charles Theo ''C. T.'' Brooks of Pensacola, FL, and where he was stationed with the United States Air Force. They were wed on December 21, 1957, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Charles' career took them to FL, Japan, MS, TX, OH, and NE. After twenty years in the military, they retired to Greenville, TX where Charles was then employed by E-Systems (later Raytheon), retiring for the second time in 1996. She worked as a caterer, owning her own business, known as Creative Catering. Barbara and her husband were longtime members of Highland Terrace Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Denise Brooks and John Philip Boucher of Murchison, TX; son, Charles Kevin Brooks and wife, Theresa Muller Brooks of Greenville, TX; grandsons, Ryan Thomas Wagner and wife, Kristy McKenzie Wagner and Daniel Patrick Schlund and wife, Rebecca Denise Schlund; granddaughter, Jennifer Muller; and great-grandchild, Devon Robert Wagner.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Boyd Hagan, Alvis Hagan; sisters, Lorene Miller and Pauline Gann.

Pallbearers will be Jack Jones, Eddie Kilerease, Steve Vecsey, John Boucher and John Turner.

Barbara asked that in lieu of flowers you consider making a donation to the DAV Chapters of Greenville.

    I think of you so much. You and Charlie are together forever now. You both always are thought of lovingly. Loved being with you on our travel in Saudi Arabia. You have helped me in so many ways. Love you.
