He was born September 6, 1939, to Rose C. Burgin, Sr. and Irene Marie Williamson in Hunt County, Texas. R. C. lived a full life and will be remembered as a cherished and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather as well father-in-law.
After college, he started work at E-Systems where he eventually retired after 40 years of working in various management positions. He was a member of the Golden K Kiwanis of Greenville, where he volunteered in all their outreach programs including Meals on Wheels and contributed to multiple construction projects. He loved family and family gatherings, all-things University of Texas, and his favorite hobby, camping with their fur babies, family and friends.
RC was a devoted husband of 61 years to Kay Burgin; proud father of Susan Boydston and husband, Doug of Sanger, Texas; Sharon Beard and husband, Kerry of Arlington, Texas and Sheila Linden and husband, Timothy of Greenville, Texas; cherished brother of Joe Bob Burgin and wife, Linda of Sulphur Springs, Texas; beloved grandfather of Josh & Jeremy Boydston, Avery Beard Singleton & Emma Beard Lauer and Jacob & Jason Linden; and loving great-grandfather of Avery & Maddison Boydston, Cooper & Jude Boydston and Aria Singleton. He will be dearly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
