Dorothy Morton, 99, of Rowlett, passed away on October 14, 2024, at Baylor, Scott & White Lakepoint. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, October 20, 2024, in the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Mr. Gary Bingham officiating. Interment will follow the service at Merit Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time on Sunday.
Dorothy was born on June 6, 1925, in Celeste, Texas to Warren Davis Townsend and Flora L. McCloud Townsend. Dorothy grew up in Hunt County and married the love of her life Clois ''Buck'' E. Morton on May 10, 1943, in Greenville, Texas. Dorothy was a retired cafeteria manager, and a member of Saturn Road Church of Christ. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
Dorothy is survived by son Ronnie E. Morton, daughters; Brenda Joyce Pinson, Deborah Ann Morton, grandchildren; Teresa Lynn Parsons, Wendy Dressler, Jolynn Malcom, Tammy Morris, Johnny Morton, ten great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, parents, one grandson and her siblings.
