She worked hard her entire life and was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She was so proud and bragged constantly about her 14 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Vest officiating.
Laurie was born April 20, 1965, in Attleboro, Massachusetts, to Barry Sylvia and Mary E. Smith Sylvia. She married Richard A. Barker, Jr. on June 25, 1994, in Caddo Mills, Texas. She worked in housekeeping at Hunt Regional Medical Center and was a member of Lake Pointe in Rockwall.
She is survived by her husband, Richard A. Barker, Jr.; sons, William Dryer, Nicholas Barker, and Justin Barker; daughters, Brenna Sylvia, Jessica Stokes, and Hannah Dryer; brother, Darin J. Sylvia; sisters, Ronda Sylvia, Tammy Sylvia, and Vanessa Sylvia; and grandchildren, Sidney, Gibson, Juniper, Delia, Wyatt, Jayden, Jordan, Jaycee, Math'ue, Zepha, Creeley, Maddox, Roxanne and Finn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Barry R. Sylvia and Mary E. Smith Sylvia and brother, Kevin Sylvia.
