Clifford Woodruff Riggins

Clifford Woodruff Riggins, 86, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on October 30, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be held at Highland Terrace Baptist on November 5, 2024 at 2:00 pm with a family visitation to follow after. Coker-Mathews is overseeing the arrangements.
Cliff was born on November 5, 1937, in Columbia, Adair County, Kentucky. He graduated from high school in Louisville and earned an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Louisville. His career started at RCA in New Jersey, where he met his wife, June, with whom he enjoyed 51 years of marriage until her passing in 2013.
Cliff and June both worked for RCA in New Jersey but left there in 1963 and moved to Greenville, Texas, where he worked for LTV/Temco/E-Systems/Raytheon, He earned his Masters Degree during his time there and retired in 1996 after 32 years of service. They were active members of Ridgecrest and Highland Terrace Baptist Churches throughout their marriage.
In retirement, Cliff volunteered extensively in the community, including with Hands of Compassion, Fish Ministries, Golden Kiwanis, Meals on Wheels, Tools for School, Drug Free Greenville Kite Doctor, building Aunt Char's playground, Women in Need, Raffa, and various building committees at his churches. But probably the biggest organization he had the privilege of being part of was the Texas Rampbuilders Association, which builds ramps to make homes wheelchair accessible at no cost to the homeowners. HE BUILT HIS LAST RAMP JUST BARELY A MONTH AGO!! They celebrated their 500th ramp built recently and he was able to go and be part of that celebration as well. As an avid car enthusiast, he was involved with the Antique Automobile Club and could be seen driving either his 1931 Model A or '68 Ford LTD in various parades in the community. Cliff and June were so blessed to be able to enjoy extensive travel abroad and stateside during his retirement years as well.
Cliff is survived by his son,Todd Riggins; daughter, Dawn Rodden and son-in-law, Ken Rodden and their family: granddaughter, Sydney Hudson and husband Matthew Hudson; granddaughter, Bayli Rodden and husband Kyle Phillips; grandson, Jake Rodden; granddaughter, Faith Rodden, and three great grandchildren Gideon Hudson, Zeke Hudson, and Ryker Phillips.
Cliff is preceded in death by his parents, Clifton Riggins and Inez Vaughn Riggins; his sister, Sandra Riggins Sharpe, and his wife June Riggins, who passed in 2013.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Highland Terrace Baptist Church, Golden Kiwanis, or Texas Rampbuilders Association.
