Jerry Dean Emmons, 73, passed away on December 10, 2024, at Briarcliff Health Center in Greenville. A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, December 16, 2024, in the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Bro. Norman Carson officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until service time Monday.
Jerry was born on September 12, 1951, in Vernon, Texas to Brady Jasper Emmons and Margie Alice Garrett Emmons. Jerry graduated from Greenville High School in 1970 and worked as a salesman most of his life. He sold men's clothing at L. O. Hammons in downtown Greenville, and at Bealls in Crossroads Mall. He worked for several years as an expediter and material coordinator at the former E-Systems. He retired from Crumpton TV as a cellular sales representative.
Jerry was known to be extremely competitive. He was an avid golfer and a devoted Texas Longhorn fan. Jerry was a singer and played guitar. He and his siblings enjoyed singing gospel music, and he also enjoyed playing at local venues with his band, Jerry Emmons and the Country Side.
Jerry is survived by his son Zachary Emmons and wife Taylor, daughter Karli Emmons Roberts and husband Seth, former wife and best friend Lou Ann Price, grandchildren Henli Roberts, Jasper Emmons, Jocelyn Bancroft, and sister Mary Emmons Pollan.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Don, Willie and Bobby Emmons, sisters Ruby Pollan and Alice Long, and infant sons Brady Dale Emmons and Jerry Dean Emmons, Jr.
