Mariana was born June 20, 1935 in Point, Texas, to Theo and Addie Pollard McMillon. She had one brother, Robert McMillon.
Mariana graduated from Point High School in 1953. She met and married her husband of 67 years while attending East Texas State Teachers College in Commerce, Texas. They were married in the Point Methodist Church on September 8, 1956.
Mariana graduated college in 1957 with a double major in Speech Therapy and Elementary Education. Later, she obtained a Master's Degree in Education and Library Science. She taught in Greenville Public Schools for 36 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Julie Tschoerner and husband, David; granddaughter, Abbie Tschoerner; grandson, Ben Tschoerner; sister-in-law, Sonia McMillon; and nephews, Gary and Rob McMillon and their families. She is reunited in Heaven with her husband, Charles, her brother, Robert and her parents.
Mariana liked to read. After retirement, she read over a hundred books a year. She enjoyed cooking favorite meals for her family. Mariana liked going to antique malls, and bookstores. She liked wildflowers in the spring, fall leaves and little white wooden churches- especially ones with steeples and stained-glass windows. She enjoyed her two grandchildren coming to spend the night and watching them play sports.
Mariana had a happy life and will be missed greatly until we are reunited once again. She will forever be remembered for her kind heart, and her delicious homecooked meals.
Per Mariana's wishes, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers for the family, please consider making a donation in Mariana's name to the American Diabetes Association or the National Kidney Foundation.
An old Irish blessing, which was a favorite of Mariana's: May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
''In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.'' John 14:2-3
