I was lucky enough to be introduced to Dan through his brother Buck going on 21 years. The fun we have all had together are some of the great memories of my life. I remember when he told me that his wife Lily didn’t speak English. I asked him how they communicated and he told me with hand signals. When I finally got to meet beautiful Lily, she came over to me speaking perfect English. I looked at him and said “You are in so much trouble!” He cracked up and so did the rest of us. That’s who he was, a gifted since of humor and an absolute heart of gold. I have seen the wonderful things he has done for others. One time when they were coming to dinner for Thanksgiving he called me to say they couldn’t be there! I was devastated! This was while I was in the kitchen and they were walking in the front door. 😂 He was a riot and will never forget the fun we have all had together. Just sad that all of us being so busy has kept us a part. So glad I spoke with him about a week ago. Still cannot believe he is gone, it doesn’t seem possible. It is absolutely heartbreaking. Will miss him forever. An amazing and wonderful friend and man. Love you Dan, always 😢

Dan is a great human being who always brought a smile to my face! He was always willing to help anyone & was one of the hardest working men I know. You will be missed Dan! I will miss seeing you across the road baling hay & farming!

There are no words to express how sad I am losing such a great friend. I met Dan during COVID, so I wasn't fortunate to know him all that long. I was a city girl moving to the country and Dan made it his mission to make me a country girl. He started by teaching me how to "call cows" "Here cow, here cow"...many of our interactions were around him teaching me how to ranch, some serious but mostly in fun. I think I will most our driveway visits most. I looked forward to a hay delivery for his cows so we could chat and I could laugh and roll my eyes on occasion. Mostly I am going to miss my friendship with Dan. I didn't expect it, but he became so important to me as a friend. The whole family is lovely and I'm so fortunate to know everyone and I am beyond blessed I had a small chapter with Dan. I hope you are in the mac-daddy John Deere tractor or riding a beautiful horse Dan, you deserve it!
