Wayne Childers

Charles Wayne Childers, 82, of Greenville, Texas, passed away on March 14, 2025, at Briarcliff Health Center. Funeral services will be held on Friday, at 10:00 a.m. at the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Mr. Gary Pendergrass. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas. Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. until services at the funeral home.

Wayne was born in Opelika, Alabama on June 9, 1942, to Clifford Childers and Thelma King. He worked for the Texas Workforce Commission until his retirement and was a member of Creekside Church of Christ.

He is survived by his brother, Steve Childers; nieces Laurie Litzenberger and Valerie Penny; great nieces Caitlyn Holmes, Alyssa Thomas, and Emily Thomas; great nephew Ryan Litzenberger; and great-great nephews Samson and Ezra Holmes as well as many cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Cliff and Thelma and his brother, Gene Childers.
