Spencer Blair Trad

I served in the Navy.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Spencer Blair Trad, who left us on May 19, 2025, at the young age of 46. Born on December 29, 1978, in Greenville, Texas, Spencer lived a life marked by kindness, consideration, and generosity.

A proud veteran, Spencer served his country honorably in the United States Navy as an Aviation Maintenance Adminstrationman. His sense of duty and service to others was evident not just in his military service, but in every aspect of his life. Serving as an altar boy in his youth, he was a person of strong religious convictions, drawing strength and comfort from his beliefs, especially during the many challenges he faced in life.

Despite struggling with physical limitations and illness, including a recent fight with leukemia, Spencer remained optimistic to all who knew him. Just like his Papa James, he never met a stranger - every person he encountered was greeted with warmth, a listening ear, and a friendly smile. He was methodical, taking his sweet time to savor life's moments and to truly connect with those around him. Nostalgic by nature, he delighted in sharing stories and memories, and watching movies, which he took great joy in.

Family was at the heart of everything Spencer did. His love for his entire family was boundless. He cherished his role as an uncle, doting on his beloved niece, Claire Redlaczyk of New York City, and nephews, Coen and Caleb Wickard of Dallas. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Shannon Trad, Aunt, Melissa Sheppeard, and Uncle, Stephen Price, who welcome him joyously to Heaven. He is survived by his father and best friend, Bob Trad, of Greenville, his ''little'' sister, Tori Wickard, and brother-in-law, Grant Wickard, of Dallas, his Aunt Cindy Price of Nacogdoches, cousins, Chris Glover of Greenville, Amanda and Keith Cordova of Nacogdoches, Austin and Jasmine Price of Walnut Creek, California, and Emily and Wayland Sanders of Greenville.

Those who knew Spencer will remember him for his tender heart, compassion, and his ability to make anyone feel like a friend. His gentle spirit will be deeply missed, but his legacy of compassion and faith will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.

A service to celebrate Spencer's life will be held on Friday, May 23, 11 am at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Rockwall. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 22, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of his giving spirit.

Run free, Spencer. We will take comfort in our many memories we hold close to our heart.

I am so very sorry to hear of Spencer's passing. I am rewriting my tribute because I see the wrong one got posted on here. Even though I found out a week later that he had passed away, I am still praying for his wonderful father, Bob, who I had the privilege to visit with on memorial Day the day I found out, his strength and love for Spencer and his beautiful daughter Tori is so amazing and inspiring. I will continue to pray for him and Tori and all of Spencer's family and friends. My family sends our love, support, and prayers. I have been thinking a lot about Spencer's love and kindness that he shared with everyone he met, he never met a stranger, we shared a love for movies and the art of filmmaking, even though I hadn't seen him in several years, back in the day he was like a big brother to me and I was always a big fan of his...I'm so sorry his time on earth was marked by many physical challenges but I know our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has a very special place in Heaven for Spencer. I'm so glad he's back with his beloved mother and uncles. Yes, run free Spencer, may your loving and kind spirit live on forever. See you down the road brother 🙏♥️ God bless you and God bless your family♥️🙏
