Mickey was born with a kind heart. Along with a unique life-long sense of humor, generosity, and a calming spirit. He had the nature of having everything worked out in place far before it was needed or necessary. By age 16 Mickey was saved in the heart of the Lord becoming His disciple at a summer revival by a preacher no more than a few years older than he. Mickey was preparing for extensive memberships for his family in Greenville at Park Street Baptist Church and later moved to Lewisville Texas in 1976 becoming a member of Lakeland Baptist Church.
Mickey graduated from high school in 1957. He and his best friend, Albert Vaughan, whose family still resides in Greenville, served in the Army National Guard from 1957 until 1965 serving at Fort Polk, LA during the Berlin Crisis. He had a God-given unique employment opportunity with the Ford Automotive Company and attended a distributive education class where he schooled for half a day then worked half a day in the auto parts department. This created a lifetime of employment with Ford, and at the ripe age of 54, he accepted the challenge by the Price of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to work for Ford Export to be built and headquartered in Jeddah on the Red Sea. Mickey stayed in the Kingdom for 10 years designing, building, and seeing to the day-to-day operations of the multi-million-dollar Ford auto parts warehouse. This not only afforded Mickey the unique excitement of the experience but also for Charlsie and Mickey to have a unique opportunity for a once-in-a-lifetime of foreign travel as well as monetary rewards as well.
We will always miss Mickey tremendously every day, but we will also remember him for his love of family, God, and his country as a military veteran as well as his many accomplishments.
Left behind to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Charlsie, daughter, Lisa, son-in-law, Kerry, Dylan's girlfriend, Kiyah, and the ''Joy'' of his life, his grandson, Dylan, who always affectionately called him ''Pop''. Many extended family, nieces, cousins, and countless friends.
Mickey went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday June 28th, 2025, after a battle with prostate and extensive bone cancer. The Spirit rises about while the vessel remains on Gods earth. Mickey chose to be cremated and is entrusted to Coker-Mathews Funeral Home in Greenville Texas. The memorial service to honor his extraordinary life and memories will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday August 9, 2025 at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel in Greenville.
Mickey was greeted in Heaven by his mother Lorene, brother Danny, grandparents Mama & Papa O'Quinn, in-laws Roy & Faye Duncan and extended family and friends, all welcoming him home into their loving arms. Mickey, Charlsie, and Lisa appreciate your love and compassion during our time of remembrance.
Mickey looks upon us all, eagerly waiting for each to come home with him.
