Wanda Adell Gooch

On Monday, September 22, 2025, Wanda Adell (Dooley) Gooch, passed away at the age 92 years 9 months and 7 days. Wanda was born in Hunt County on December 15, 1932, to Dee and Effie (Lively) Dooley.

Wanda started to work early in life. One of her first jobs was at Barlow's Florist located at the north end of Walnut Street.

When she was interviewed the owner asked Wanda to tell her what items were on the cabinet behind her without turning to look. Wanda told her everything that was on the cabinet and the lady said you're hired for being so observant, which is a good quality to have. Wanda went to work for E-Systems in Greenville. She started out as a secretary and progressed up to a Contract administrator for the German Contracts Department. Her job was a demanding one and required her to travel to Germany to negotiate contracts. In 1993 Wanda was selected for the E-Systems Top 100 employees club. The category she was selected for was Operational Performance.

Wanda dedicated many years of her professional life to the Company, where she was respected for her integrity to detail, and unwavering commitment to excellence. Over the course of her career, she contributed to projects that supported critical missions and reflected her deep sense of responsibility to others. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she was admired by colleagues as a trusted mentor, a dependable teammate, and a dear friend. Her legacy at Raytheon is not only in the work she helped advance, but in the countless lives she touched through her kindness and dedication. Wanda retired in 1993.

Wanda is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Jeffery and Misty Lovell Gooch, daughter and son-in-law Teresa and HB Dodson and grandchildren Geoffery and Kristin Gooch, Dallas and Olivea Dodson and Dylan and Kelly Dodson, and six great-grandkids.
