Henrietta Taylor

Henrietta Taylor, 87, of Greenville, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family. Funeral arrangements will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Dr. Tommy Mann and Dr. James Ralson officiating. Burial will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Henrietta was born July 16, 1938, in Houston, Texas, to Henry W. Slaughter and Ouida (Pipsaire) Pickens. She married Don E. Taylor on June 18, 1960, at the First Baptist Church in Henderson, Texas. She and Don were faithful companions and happily married for 65 years. She, also, never let him forget that she was born one day older than him.

Henrietta was a devoted mother to her two children, Steve and Laura, and a doting ''Grammy'' to her grandchildren, Austin and Maggie. The family remembers her smile and laughter which were present wherever she went.

She was an active member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church where she worked in the food pantry and was a member of the Faithful Servants Sunday School class, which she loved.

She is survived by her husband, Don E. Taylor; son, Steve Taylor and wife, Dana; daughter, Laura Thomas and husband, Gordon Steve; brother, Hubert Park (Chip) Pickens; grandchildren, Gordon Austin Thomas and Maggie Lin Preston.

Her parents preceded her in death.
