Ray was born on June 16, 1954, in Fairbanks, Alaska to John Porter and JoAnn Taylor Allen. He married Debra Lake on November 10, 1978, in Wolfe City, Texas.
Over the years, Ray developed many trades from roofing to vinyl siding to wood burning stoves and more. His most recent were a business in computer networking and a community service through A2B driving business.
Along with his love of puns, Dad jokes, Star Trek and UT football, he loved to serve others. Whether traveling to Guyana, South America for mission work or lending a helping hand to those in need locally, Ray lived out his faith daily. He was a devoted member of Kingston Church of Christ and found joy in serving the Lord through service to others.
Ray is survived by his wife of 47 years, Debra Lake Allen; daughters, Krysta Allen, Megan Allen Keller and husband, David; his son, Jared Allen and wife, Julie; mother JoAnn Taylor Allen; sister, Becky Allen Schulz and husband, Norbert; his cherished grandchildren, Oliver, Vincent, Marley, Brandon, Tobin and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father.

Greenville, TX Saturday, November 22, 2025 I first met Ray in 2015 when i used my Lyft app hoping I could get a ride to the airport. Luckily Ray was at home sitting in he’s chair waiting for a request. And from that point on, the friendship was built. Over the next 10 years he carried me, my family, coworkers and countless of friends.
Whenever Ray would pick me up from the airport we had our routine. We would go to waterburger at the south entrance there we would eat, and I would ask him to catch me up on things going on in town.
Ray was one of a kind and he will be truly missed
