Morris Alan Price

Morris Alan Price, 67, of Cumby, passed away on December 5, 2025 in Dallas, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Norman Carson officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until service time.

Morris was born in Dallas, Texas on September 9, 1958 to William Coleman Price and Kathryn Adell Powell. He married the love of his life, the former Lou Ann Higginbotham, on December 18, 2016 in Cumby, Texas at the Billboard House.

Aside from being a star athlete in his younger years, Morris was an institution in the DFW music scene. He was known to be a tireless worker and a problem-solver, all the while with a smile on his face and a kind word to share. He was a mentor to so many folks in the industry, and made an indelible mark on countless lives. He was one of the best front men to ever command a stage, with his bands ''Ouch'' and ''The Morris Price Band.'' To quote more than one of his followers, he was a ''force to be reckoned with."

Morris put his belief and hope in Jesus Christ, and was happy to share his testimony. He would pray with and for people he didn't even know. He had a way of gravitating toward those who needed a kind word and a sense of hope. He was a humble servant.

Now, to steal a few lines from the TV show, The Office, this sums up Morris pretty well:

The dictionary defines superlative as ''of the highest kind, quality or order, surpassing all else or others, supreme.'' I define it as Morris Price. As a husband, father, brother, grandpa, uncle, coworker, band mate, leader, and as a man and as a friend, he was of the highest kind, quality and order, supreme.

He is survived by his wife, Lou Ann Price; children Cole Price and Chance Price; Shannon Oswalt and husband, Mike; Zach Emmons and wife, Taylor and Karli Roberts and husband, Seth; brother, Dennis Price and wife, Nancy, along with a multitude of family members and cherished friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Danny Price, and sister, Kimberly McGee.

Lou Ann I'm so sorry for your loss. Happy i connected with Morris and you. Sad I didn't get to see Morris and meet you. As cousins we were all close to all of them when we were younger. Uncle Bill was like a dad to me. I remember when Morris got his drum set.
    He will be truly missed.

We are so sorry for the lost of your dear Husband, Morris. We regret that we never had the opportunity to get to know him well. Dan has spoken with him briefly a few times in Cumby and could tell he was a genuinely nice person. Seeing y'all on Facebook it was obvious that y'all were crazy about each other and had loads of fun together. The poor guy had such a long struggle with health issues and you were at his side through it all. Our hearts go out to you and we are here if you need anything. We hope your memories of him will comfort you long into the future.

    My Friend Morris….
There aren’t enough words I can put on this page for me to honor MP…he gave me a job in his band when I needed one & we played music together… we laughed till I sides hurt at the Trump Resort at the Doral in Florida… He always left me smiling when we saw each other….. He Loved Lou Ann.. He Loved his sons & was proud of them… to say Morris will be missed is an understatement!… He will not be forgotten!…. He won’t let that happen, even from Heaven…
    God Speed to you Mo!
Keep an eye on all of us…
You’ve got the best seat in the house…

He was one of a kind! He loved everyone. At several family funerals, he brought a kitchen towel because a handkerchief just wasn’t enough to hold the tears he would shed! He will be missed.
Love to Lou and all his kids.
