Prayers of comfort for Will and the Cummings family during this time of Larry's passing. I met Larry in 1973, he had a emerald green GTO, and one of his favorite groups was Earth, Wind and Fire. He talked about being in the service and also the Airborne Unit, which earned him hero status with the rest of our friends. Larry always liked hamburgers in those days, and we would often go to his house on Fourth Street. His Mother, Lillie Mae, addressed as Mrs. Cummings, was an excellent housekeeper and cook. She always made Larry a hamburger just exactly like he liked it, actually there were delicious. His Dad, "W.C." who we referred to as Mr. Cummings, was always so gentle and sweet, and I remember a Lava lamp on the TV that he was fascinated with, and would always make sure to call our attention to it. Larry was always impressed with his older brother, James, and talked about how intelligent he was. The Pizza Inn in Greenville was the hangout and we all met there most weekend days and Larry enjoyed the socializing and drinking coffee. Often times we would go to the "Royal" which was another place to gather. When he was attending ETSU he would come over and study at my house. Larry took me to my senior prom, and we shared several years and many wonderful time together. I will always have fond memories of Larry, as we made lots of good memories together. Moments that I will always cherish. A very handsome and kind man, and I know he was dearly loved and will be missed. Love and prayers for each of you. - Kind regards, Peggy Everhart Compton
