Macey Bell

Martha Macey Molen Bell, 80, of Wolfe City, Texas, passed away on January 30, 2026, after a five-year journey with Parkinson's disease and dementia.

Macey is survived by her husband, Byron Bell of Wolfe City; her daughter, LeAnn Bell Weigel, and husband, Craig, of Edmond, Oklahoma; her son, Brooks Bell, and wife, Christina, of Cedar Park, Texas; her grandsons, Luke Weigel and Grant Weigel of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Brock Bell of Cedar Park, Texas; her brother, George Marshall Molen, and wife, Pattie, of Starkville, Mississippi; and her close cousin, Ginger Hicks, and husband, Jerald, of Lone Oak, Texas.

Macey was born a twin on February 22, 1945, in Greenville, Texas, to Ford and Jolene Molen. Sharing a birthday with George Washington, she and her twin brother were fittingly named Martha and George. She graduated from Greenville High School in 1963 and went on to attend Texas Tech University, where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and earned a degree in education in 1968. Prior to graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, Byron Bell, on September 2, 1967, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned nearly six decades.
Macey dedicated more than 30 years to teaching. She began her career in Lubbock before stepping away from the classroom to focus on raising her family after moving to Richardson. Once LeAnn and Brooks were in school, she returned to education as a substitute teacher and special education aide at Dartmouth Elementary. In 2000, following Byron's retirement, the couple moved outside Greenville, where Macey became a beloved special education teacher at Wolfe City Elementary. She concluded her teaching career in 2007 as a substitute teacher at Crockett Elementary in Greenville.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Briarcliff Nursing Home for their loving care of Macey during her final two years.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Highland Terrace Baptist Church in Greenville, Texas, with visitation from 1:00 P.M. until service time. A private family burial will be at Memoryland Memorial Park. A visitation will be held at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home on Monday, February 2, 2026 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Pallbearers: Luke Weigel, Grant Weigel, Brock Bell, Greg Molen, Bart McKay, Brian McKay, Scott Gill and Ben McKay.

Macey was a much loved teacher at Wolfe City Elementary School where she helped children to love learning, to become accelerated readers, and to always be kind. These were always mirrored by Macey in the classroom! I will always remember her beautiful smile, her commitment to students, and her positive attitude! God’s prayers and blessings to all of the family.
    Much love….Ola and Dick Owens
