Mr. Turner was born on June 23, 1928 in Wolfe City, Texas to Robert Samuel Turner and Lula Irene Comer. He married Loyse Faye Henderson on December 2, 1950 in Greenville, Texas. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked for Ferrier Brothers Bridge Construction, Turner Brothers Home Building and East Texas A&M Commerce. He was a member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Loyse Faye Turner; son, Randy Turner and wife, Kay; daughter, Pat Halback and husband, Tom; grandchildren, Matthew Halback, Jeremy Halback, Kristin Grimm, Craig Turner and Trey Turner; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, one infant sister, and four brothers.
Pallbearers will be Craig Turner, Trey Turner, Matthew Halback, Jeremy Halback, Tom Halback and Bob Forst.
Honorary pallbearer will be Steve Turner.
Memorial donations may be made to Highland Terrace Baptist Church Building Fund.
