A celebration of their lives will be held 2:00 P.M., Sunday, February 22, 2026 at the Bain Lake House, 7223 County Road 3516, Quinlan, Texas with Mrs. Brittany Sims officiating.
Coker-Mathews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Scott was born on April 12, 1973 in Durand, Michigan to Robert Knapp and Barbara Hart Knapp. He worked for QMF Steel as a floor plant manager and was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Melinda was born on October 13, 1973 in Collin County to Herbert Paul Edge and Glenda Alexander Edge. She worked for First Bank of Celeste as a teller.
Scott and Melinda both had a passion for the lake and holidays. They loved spending their weekends at Lake Texoma on their boat, "Why Not" with their friends at Grandpappy Point. If they weren't out on the water soaking up the sun, then they were decorating for the upcoming holiday. They both loved their children and grandchildren, and making every memory as special as they possibly could for each of them.
They are survived by their loving children, Cheyenne Cross & husband, Wyatt, Courtney Clanton & husband, Trey, Maigyne Ishman & husband, Rashad, David Burton and girlfriend, Jennie Grimm; grandchildren, Raigan Ishman, Jailyn Ishman and De'Andre Ishman, Jr.;
Scott's mother, Barbara Knapp; Scott's siblings, Dawn and Doug Frayer, Teresa and Marvin LeCureux, Carolyn and Ari Rodriguez; Melinda's siblings, Donnie Edge and wife, Angie, Christi Edge, their sister-in-law, Mary Knapp; and many friends that love them dearly and they loved right back.
They were preceded in death by Scott's father, Scott's brother, Mark Knapp, and Melinda's mother and father.

The short time I was around Scott was a Blessing. He was always funny and able to give you crap while making you feel a part of it all. He came at you full force but had a huge heart. I just want to send prayers and condolences to all effected by this great loss. I pray God wraps His loving arms around you and gives you peace in this difficult time. The hurt gets easier to bare over time but we never forget the great memories. Memories are the good stuff and I have some awesome Scott memories that I will always cherish.
