Darron Lee Godwin, 58, of Greenville, Texas, passed away on March 11, 2026, at the Hunt Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel of Coker-Mathews with Mr. Jody Burch officiating. Burial will follow at Celeste Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Darron was born July 21, 1967, in Greenville, Texas, to Larry and Marsha Gilliam Godwin. He served his country in the U.S. Army. On March 12, 1988, he married Christy Speir. He worked as a production Technician for E-Systems and Folgers Coffee. He was of the Church of Christ faith.
Darron was an avid Longhorn, Cowboy, Ranger Fan! His love for sports began in his younger years as his Daddy coached him and he continued school sports as a wonderful teammate. He took his passion for sports and became a wonderful coach to help train his kids along with other young athletes. He had a great sense of humor and a smile that went on for days. He was an incredible friend! To know him was to love him.
Darron is survived by his wife, Christy Godwin; mother, Marsha Godwin; son, Beau Godwin and Erica; brother, Jared Godwin and Cathy; sister, Marcy Godwin Burch and Jody; grandmother, Billie Gilliam; grandchildren, Jayden, Braiden, Brantlee, Brynleigh, Madeline, Carsen, Lucas, and one on the way.
He is preceded in death by his father and daughter, Brittany Godwin.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Gilliam, Dob Gilliam, Norman Graham, Greg Speir, Mike Speir and Gregg Robinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jayden Godwin, Chad Speir and Chris Sephus.
