Steve was a devoted husband to Beckie McKay Davis for 54 wonderful years. He loved his family with his whole heart, and nothing brought him more joy than time spent with them. He especially cherished family vacations to Colorado, where he enjoyed riding through the mountains and making lasting memories with his children and grandchildren. His grandchildren, who lovingly called him ''Big Daddy'' were truly his world.
Steve was a devoted Christian who faithfully served the Lord as a deacon and member of First Baptist Church of Wolfe City. He was a valued member of his community, serving on the Wolfe City ISD School Board. Alongside his friend, Dwayne Herron, he helped establish the Wolfe City Buyers Co-op, raising money for the agricultural youth of Wolfe City. He also served as an officer of the Wolfe City Riding Club and was a member of the Wolfe City Volunteer Fire Department. His love for agriculture led him to a lifelong career as a farmer, rancher, and fertilizer application business owner.
During his high school years, Steve was a standout athlete who excelled in basketball. He was named to the All-Star basketball team and went on to attend TCU and later East Texas State University on basketball scholarships.
He is survived by his loving wife, Beckie Davis; his children, Jennifer Reed and her children, Chase Reed and his fiancé, Katie, and Abby Reed; Jill Woodruff and her husband, Brandon, and their children, Taylor Minter and her husband, Trenton, and Kinsly Woodruff; and Jake Davis and his wife, Alissa, and their children, Cade Davis and Cullen Davis.
Steve is also survived by his brother, Timmy Davis and his wife, Molly; his brother-in-law, Joel McKay and his wife, Kim; his sister-in-law, Tammie Parkes and her husband, Joe; as well as many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
