Mr. Holley was born on October 19, 1939 in Hamilton County, Texas to Alton Neeley Holley and Sarah Lucille Elam Holley. He graduated from Hamilton High School in 1958.
He moved to Greenville, Texas in 1960 where he met Jo Ann Kilgore and they were married on July 15, 1961 in Greenville, Texas. Ron served in the U.S. Army for three years, he completed Basic training at Fort Hood, he served in the U.S. and Germany as a Personnel Specialist. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and Sharpshooter (M14) Award.
He graduated from East Texas State University (now East Texas A&M University) with a degree in Accounting. He retired after 33 years from E-Systems (now Raytheon).
He was one of the original founders of the Greenville Antique Car Club and a member of the Antique Car Club of America. He owned numerous antique automobiles which he greatly enjoyed working on and driving on trips and tours with the car club.
He was a faithful member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church for over 50 years, where he was a retired deacon.
Mr. Holley is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Holley; sons, Steve Holley and wife, Jeneace, and Scott Holley and wife, Sherry Ann; brother, Arnold Holley and wife, Mickey; grandchildren, Amanda Holley, Joshua Holley and wife, Katie, and James Holley and wife, Robin; and six great-grandchildren, Kathryn, Elijah, Blake, Peyton, Joseph and Jeremiah.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Nancy Swint; and brother, David Holley.
Pallbearers will be Ken Money, Charles Davidson, Mitchell Money, Mitch Moore, Doug Crawford and Jim Kilgore.
Honorary pallbearers will be Melvin Wade, David Williams, and members of the Greenville Antique Car Club.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ACTS 1:8 Team at Ridgecrest Baptist Church to support upcoming mission trips
