Joy was born July 21, 1938, in Farmersville, Texas, to B.K. and Lela Grace Petty Chapman. She married Billy Dewayne Blankenship on March 7, 1956, in Oklahoma. She worked as a teachers aide and was a member of the Floyd Baptist Church.
Joy is survived by her son, Steve Blankenship and wife, Debbie; brothers, Lester Chapman, Johnny Chapman; grandchildren, Suzette Smith, Billy Blankenship, Cody Blankenship, Chad Blankenship, Troy Blankenship; 13 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Dale Blankenship; grandson, Cody and great-granddaughter, Chasta.
Pallbearers will be Dakota Blankenship, Chad Blankenship, Troy Blankenship, Kadin Smith, Keith Chapman, James Blankenship and honorary pallbearers will include Billy Blankenship, Ryder Blankenship, Cooper Blankenship and Mason Smith.
