Loretta Farrer, 74 years young, has gone on before us. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, May 5th, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. in Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Kevin Moore Officiating. Visitation will be at 9:00 until service time. Interment will be in Shady Grove Cemetery. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Loretta found her greatest joys in the simplest pleasures, most notably strolling along the beach, searching for hidden treasures of sea glass and shells. Above all else, she cherished her family. She shared a beautiful, enduring bond with her husband, Vernon Farrer, with whom she spent 46 wonderful years of marriage.
Loretta's legacy of love lives on through her family, whom she adored deeply:
• Children: Natalie & Cornelius Williams, Cari & partner Tyrone, Bennie & Carrie Glenn, Laura & Matt Raymond, and Jennifer & Tim Merchant.
• Grandchildren: Julia, Taylor, Ashlee, Sumer, Lexie, Chelsea, Trey, Hannah, Levi, Dylan, Chloe, and Alexxa.
• Legacy: Her family tree continued to grow, including 22 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Loretta will be missed dearly by all who knew her. While our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing this is not a final goodbye, but rather a "until we meet again."
As we hold onto her memory, we find peace in the words of 2 Corinthians 5:8:
"We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord."
