Hal was born July 29, 1950, in Dallas, Texas, to Halton Savoy, Sr., and Billie Jean Cates Wright. He married Coletta Bolick on July 17, 1971, in Greenville, Texas. He was a retired letter carrier and of the Baptist faith.
Hal graduated from Greenville High School in 1968, was a member of the Lion Pride Band and Stage Band. He was an avid supporter of the Floor Show as a production assistant from 1990 until 2023. He also loved the Greenville Lions football team, holding season tickets for over 40 years. He was a Master Mason, a past Worshipful Master, and a member of the Caddo Mills Masonic Lodge #581 and was also a member of the Hella Shrine. He was a lifelong drummer who played with several country bands.
Hal is survived by his wife, Coletta Wright; son, Justin Wright and wife, Stacy; daughter, Tara Buchanan and husband, Justin (Buck); sister, Kim Horne; grandchildren, Kylie Wright, Aaralyn Wright, Jacee Buchanan and fiancé, Parker Hays, Jaden Holt and husband, Justin (Mikey), Jenna Diaz and husband, Jake, Jared Buchanan; and great-grandson, Chandler Hays.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jeanne Wright.
